To the one who became my first true friend
It seems our wounds weren’t destined to mend
The murder that should have never occurred
To the bonds we knit so tightly secure
We were closer than water, closer than blood
But liquid is liquid, and washes away like a flood
In the end, these regrets are mine to bear
I wish there was some way to show you I care
And turn back the clock to a time we still shared

To the one who became my bantering brother
I would have never traded you for another
Our jokes were filled with lighthearted scorn
Our jests pierced like quick, but gentle thorns
Through sarcasm we drew closer together
But time slowly loosed our friendship’s tether
It was my mistake for being so blind
And my memories are too quick to remind
Our destinies were never meant to intertwine

To the one who became the block in the road
The one of whom I bear the largest load
I’ve attempted to escape this dead end maze
Treaded it so many times, I’ve created my own ways
Yet the exits and even the beginning, too
Always end up leading straight back to you
I’d do anything to travel back to when
Our friendship wasn’t so twisted and bent
And maybe, finally, I’d be satisfied, then

To the one whom my heart will not release
The one whom I innocently gave a piece
I loved you then and maybe forever
These chains are not so easily severed
Like the blood that flows through the veins
I depend on you like the lands need the rains
And though a mask works to hide one’s face
The inside is exposed, showing the space
Where you once resided and cannot be replaced

To the one who came quickly and left just as fast
Our first time together was also our last
I thought I was being fair when I said
“Please go, he won’t get out of my head.”
I realize now I should have held on
But now is too late when you’ve already gone
I’ll miss you and the time we spent
Please know how much I would repent
This regret is mine without your consent

To the friends I came to know so dear
At one point I held you all so near
But change and loss, like black holes
Tear and rip at once-close souls
We may or may not meet again
I try to forget how long it’s been
But to the ones for granted I took
The burden of loss is like a finished book
The chapters you etched so deep on my heart
Can be reread, but will gain no new part
Please, someday, let’s all go back to the start
These memories only serve to tear me apart

Sadly, I can relate with this poem a lot. It's quite well-written, too.  :)
